Song Seung-heon’s Ghost remake

Another one of Song Seung-heon‘s upcoming projects is the movie Ghost (literally Love and Soul), the remake of the 1990 Hollywood movie that co-stars Japanese actress Matsushima Nanako. On August 3, the film held its production press conference at Tokyo’s Grand Hyatt Hotel, and above is a still from the film.

This project is a three-way co-production, as it is backed by Korean, American, and Japanese producers. At the press conference, Song declared that it will be “on a different level from previous Korean-Japanese melodrama co-productions.” Co-star Matsushima said, “We did our best not to go against the most memorable scenes from the first movie. We’ll be able to move audiences in a different way than the original.”

Directing the film is Otani Taro, who directed hit Japanese drama series Gokusen. Korean entertainment company CJ Entertainment is a major investor, as are Paramount Pictures Japan and Shochiku Company.

This’ll be Song’s second high-profile remake this year, the other one being Invincible. That film will open first, in September, and then Ghost will release in November.
